  • Due to inconsistent cell phone service in the area, we recommend connecting your mobile device to the GISD network to ensure reliable communication and uninterrupted access. 

    Please be advised that this is a state-funded network intended for official use. All network traffic may be monitored, logged, and subject to review in accordance with applicable state laws, regulations, and organizational policies. By accessing the network, users acknowledge and consent to such monitoring.

  • What type of Device do you have?*
    • Instructions for iPhone or iPad Users 
    • iPhone or iPad

      Requires iOS 14 or later

      1. Open the Settings app, then tap Wi-Fi.

      2. If you aren't currently connected to the network, tap Edit in the upper-right corner of the screen.

      3. Tap the More Info button  next to the network name.

      4. Configure the settings:

      • If using iOS 18 or later, tap Private Wi-Fi Address, then tap Off, Fixed or Rotating.
      • If using an earlier OS, turn Private Wi-Fi Address off.
    • Instructions for Android Users 
    • Android 

      1. Open the Settings app  , then tap Connections 

      2. Tap to open Wi-Fi  .

      2. Tap the Android 3-dot menu   in the upper-right corner of the screen.

      3. Tap Advanced settings, then tap Manage networks.

      4. Locate and tap the Network name.

      5. Tap View More.

      6. Configure MAC address type to Phone MAC

    • Instructions for MacBook Users 
    • Finding your MacBook's MAC address takes just a few clicks through your System Settings.

      1. Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen.
      2. Select System Settings or System Preferences.
      3. Click Network in the left sidebar.
      4. Select Wi-Fi in the Right Pane.
      5. Scroll to the bottom and click the 'Advanced button...' button.
      6. Your Wi-Fi MAC Address should be displayed in the middle of the window.
    • Instructions for Windows Laptops Users 
      1. Navigate to the Settings.
      2. Click 'Network & Internet' in the Left Pane.
      3. Click 'Advanced network settings' at the bottom of the Right Pane.
      4. Click 'Hardware and connection properties' in the 'More Settings' option.
      5. Scroll and locate the a connection named Wi-Fi to find the Physical Address (MAC) listed just below.
    • Instructions for Chrome OS Users 
    • To get the MAC address before connecting to a network:

      1. Turn on your Chromebook and reach the Welcome or Sign-in screen.
      2. Click the drop-down menu for "Select a network".
      3. Your Wi-Fi MAC address will be listed directly at the bottom.

       

      If you are logged in

      1. Open the Chrome browser.
      2. Type chrome://system into the address bar, and press Enter.
      3. Scroll down to ifconfig and click the Expand... button next to it.
      4. Your MAC address is listed after ether in the wlan0 (wireless) or eth0 (wired) sections.
